Geocaches
Adventure Awaits on the Trail
Geocaching is a real-world, outdoor treasure hunting game using GPS-enabled devices. Participants navigate to a specific set of GPS coordinates and then attempt to find the geocache (container) hidden at that location. On the Lincoln Prairie Trail, this offers a unique way to explore our scenic 14.6-mile path, from the vibrant prairie wildflowers to the historic railroad corridors that connect Pana, Owaneco, and Taylorville. It is a family-friendly activity that turns a simple walk or bike ride into an interactive journey through the heart of Christian County.
The LPTC Geocaching Hub
The Lincoln Prairie Trails Conservancy is proud to host and maintain a series of official caches that highlight the trail’s unique landmarks and local history. This page serves as our central hub for the geocaching community, where we share coordinates and clues for caches managed directly by the LPTC. Whether you are a seasoned “cacher” or a curious newcomer, we invite you to use this resource to discover hidden gems along the trail, sign our digital and physical logs, and help us celebrate the preservation of this community treasure.
