Celebrate Trails Day 2026: Join the Movement!

Mark your calendars! On April 25, 2026, we are joining the national movement to get outside and enjoy the beauty of our local pathways. Whether you want to bike, hike, or roll, the Lincoln Prairie Trail is the place to be. Brought to you by Lincoln Prairie Trails COnservancy, Olde Towne Pub in Owaneco, and the Rails to Trails Conservancy: https://www.railstotrails.org/

📍 Basecamp: Owaneco

The Lincoln Prairie Trails Conservancy (LPTC) will be out in full force! Find our tent at the corner of Masonic & Short St. (across from the Olde Town Pub) in Owaneco from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM.

Stop by to see us for:

  • Refreshments & Giveaways: Grab a snack and some trail gear.
  • LPTC Merchandise: Support the trail and look good doing it.
  • Trail Info: Learn how you can get involved in preserving our local landscape.
  • Local Eats: Food is available right across the street at our sponsor, The Olde Town Pub.

🕵️ The B&O Railroad Commemorative Coin Hunt

We’re bringing history back to the trail with a special Geocaching Event! Explore the path of the historic Baltimore & Ohio Railroad and hunt for hidden treasures at various Depot Sites along the trail.

We have hidden exclusive 3D-printed commemorative coins for you to find.

  • Where to find the caches: Coordinates and locations will be posted right here on our website on Saturday morning.
  • Physical Maps: We will have printed maps available at the LPTC tent in Owaneco starting at 10:00 AM.
  • The Prize: Find the cache, claim your coin—First to Find (FTF) takes the prize!

How to Participate

You can start at any entrance or trailhead—Taylorville, Lake Entrance, Owaneco, Millersville, or Pana—and just start moving!

A huge thank you to our sponsors, Rails-to-Trails Conservancy and The Olde Town Pub, for making this day possible.

We’ll see you on the trail!
