Prairie Restoration Project North of Owaneco

Exciting news: The City of Pana has officially approved LPTC’s native restoration project along the Lincoln Prairie Trail! We’re transforming land adjacent to the trail into a thriving ecosystem of native grasses and wildflowers to support pollinators, birds, and native wildlife.

Location: Between E 1000 North Road and E 1100 North Road

How You Can Help:

Help us bring native grasslands back to life. High-diversity native seed mixes—blending deep-rooted perennial grasses like big bluestem and switchgrass with vital pollinator forbs like milkweed and coneflowers—typically cost between $250 and $600+ per acre, before factoring in site preparation, erosion-control cover crops, and seeding equipment. Every contribution directly funds the high-quality seed and ground supplies needed to turn bare dirt into a self-sustaining ecosystem that filters runoff, enriches the soil, and shelters declining wildlife. Whether you sponsor a fraction of an acre or an entire field, your gift establishes deep roots that will sustain this landscape for generations to come.
