These two cities provided the heavy infrastructure, maintenance, and high-volume traffic that kept the <strong>Baltimore &amp; Ohio (B&amp;O)<\/strong> profitable for decades.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Pana: The Junction City<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Pana was a railroad powerhouse, famously known as the &#8220;City of Roses,&#8221; but built on a foundation of coal and steam. At one point, four major railroads intersected here, including the B&amp;O.
